Tilghman Island Day a Visit to the Home of the Seafood Industry. On Saturday, October 17th, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. the Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Company will hold its annual Tilghman Island Day Celebration.
A crowd favorite, the workboat-docking contest is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., with a work boat race to follow at 2:30 p.m. Other exhibits include local artisans. There will be live music throughout the day in Kronsberg Park featuring “Bird Dog and the Road Kings,” a popular bay-area group. Crab-picking and oyster-shucking contests are scheduled at 3:30 p.m. Professional and amateur pickers and shuckers will be featured.
The Tilghman Island Watermen’s Museum is a must see, sharing the history, traditions, heritage, and culture of Tilghman Island.
