Kenneth Heath: Waterman, Commercial Fisherman, and Boat Docking Competitor

Kenneth Heath is a 63-year-old commercial fisherman with over 45 years of experience on the water. Throughout his career, he has worked a wide range of fisheries, including pound netting, crabbing, gillnetting, clamming, and conch pot fishing.

Born and raised in Northampton County, Virginia, Kenneth has spent his entire life in Townsend, where the water has always been both his livelihood and his way of life.

For the past 12 years, he has also been involved in boat docking, starting with his 42-foot aluminum pound net boat, POUND NETTER. He later took on a major rebuild project, purchasing a fiberglass boat that had been sitting unused in a backyard for 15 years. Kenneth repowered it with a Caterpillar engine, had a new cabin built by P.L. Jones, and brought the vessel back to life with a full restoration.

He named the boat Thomas Jaden in honor of two of his grandchildren—a reflection of the legacy he continues to build both on and off the water.
