Docking Like a Girl and Inspiring the Next Generation
At just 20 years old, Sydney is making waves as one of the youngest competitors in boat docking—and one of the few women in the sport. She captains Wild Child, a 31-foot vessel powered by a 454 engine, and has been competing since 2013. Inspired by her older brothers and dad, Sydney was determined to follow in their footsteps and prove herself in the arena.
Her tagline, “Dock like a girl,” isn’t just a catchphrase—it’s her mission. Sydney’s skill, hard work, and determination inspire young girls everywhere to chase their dreams. “With some hard work and a lot of practice, you can do anything as long as you believe in yourself,” she says. When she’s not competing, Sydney spends the off-season working on her boat and oystering. Fans can follow her journey on Facebook and Instagram under @DockLikeAGirl, where she continues to break barriers and prove that girls can do anything—even dock it like a pro.
