Jake Jacobs: The Outlaw of Boat Docking

Jake Jacobs runs OUTLAW, a 35-foot custom-built Luhrs powered by a 500-horsepower Detroit Diesel. A gift from his father, the boat symbolizes Jake’s passion for competition and his roots as a lifelong waterman. He began boat docking in 2012, bringing a “cowboy attitude” and unmatched determination to the sport.

Born and raised as a commercial crabber, Jake grew up attending docking events, dreaming of the day he’d compete. With grit and drive, he built OUTLAW and made that dream a reality. Though he’s retired from crabbing, Jake now works as a full-time truck driver, hauling gasoline across Southern Maryland for Carroll Motor Fuels—one of his proud sponsors. Known for his outgoing, wild energy and relentless desire to win, Jake spends his off-season tinkering with OUTLAW, constantly finding ways to shave seconds off his times. Whether on the water or on the road, Jake brings his fearless, competitive spirit to everything he does. It’s no surprise that his #1 fan is his wife Jen!
