John Ashton:
Captain of Miss Julie

John Ashton captains Miss Julie, a 41-foot vessel powered by a Caterpillar 3208 engine. While he began docking his own boat in 1997, his passion for the sport started in childhood, attending boat docking events and dreaming of being part of the action. John is known for his smooth, consistent handling of both boat and ropes, a skill honed over years of dedication.

When the season ends, he focuses on preparing Miss Julie for the next year, tackling upgrades like redoing the cabin interior, installing a new floor, and even adding a new engine. Outside of boat docking, John stays busy as a commercial fisherman and skilled boat builder, further demonstrating his deep connection to the water and his craft.
